Anwen MacRos
Born Anwen Parcell, Anwen was the daughter and only child of Eurion Parcell, a whitesmith in Lakeside Fin-Allan. As many enterprises in Fin-Allan were family businesses, she was effectively apprenticed to her father from a young age. However, at the age of 23, she was introduced to Peric MacRos, son of Arthus MacRos. Arthur was a small-scale moneylender and financier who occasionally did business with Eurion, but he was getting old. Much like Anwen, Peric was being apprenticed by his father to his business, and was increasingly instrumental in running it.
Anwen and Peric married, and Peric was increasingly the chief figure running the MacRos moneylending business with the aid of his wife. Anwen at this point had entirely given up smithing. Increasingly, the MacRos operation was becoming a full-fledged bank, and Peric brought in other wealthy merchants and nobles to provide capital for the operation, enticing them with shares of the profits and a seat on the board that made decisions for the MacRos bank. However, as Peric became more focused on securing capital and business partners, the day to day management fell upon Anwen. She had a seat on the board, but rarely made motions on it. Instead, the wife of Peric MacRos simply did as she saw fit, being the only person who fully understood the books of the bank.
These days the MacRos bank is the largest such institution in Fin-Allan, servicing most of the city. Most people involved in the bank have no idea about Anwen's true influence, believing her position on the board to be largely a formality. She is a bookish, quiet and reserved woman who lets her husband do the talking, even though most of what he says in board meetings is what she asked him to. As a result, she controls much of the flow of money in the city with very few people realizing that she does so. She decides which institutions are trustworthy and worth cooperating with, who is creditworthy, and is the only one with a full understanding of the assets the MacRos bank actually commands. As a result, she is indispensable to the operation, something only fully understood by her husband.
Those who do know Anwen know her as a traditional Khelish woman, a mother of two, deeply involved in supporting the druids in her area.
