Gnoll
A large species of doglike humanoid, gnolls stand almost 2 meters despite their usual hunched posture, and are mainly found in the northern parts of the continent. Living mainly in inhospitable regions of the world, gnolls have not founded great empires or had significant impact on world affairs, and many consider the gnolls to be backwards, savage creatures. Nevertheless, some gnolls have become subjects of other realms, and those who live among these civilized gnolls know them to be no better or worse than any other folk.
Known gnollish cultures are the Phyrians, the primitive Gray Gnolls as well as the eastern gnolls of Valko.
Basic Information
Anatomy
The most immediately obvious feature of a gnoll is that it is large and hairy. Somewhat wiry underneath all its fur, the gnoll is nevertheless nearly 2 meters tall on average, and possesses powerful legs that give it considerable agility and a powerful leap. It's face is similar to a dog's, with a powerful jaw, and like dogs the gnoll has a much better sense of smell than most folk.
Adapted to the cold, the gnoll finds itself uncomfortable in warm environments, and though it can survive, few would prefer to leave their northern homes.
