Yeti

The lands north of the Frostridge have traditionally been considered lost to civilization. Angerland is considered a backwater by most, yet at least the dukes of Angerland may yet call themselves dukes. South of the Frostridge, the orders of dwarves, gnolls, and humans still reign.

North of it however, and along the slopes of the high peaks, a different order reigns. Where nothing grows and where the closest village is many leagues away, legend says that one may find the Yeti. An enormous beast standing tall like a man, but fully covered in fur the color of snow, the creature makes a frequent appearance in Angrian legends. Various mythical heroes are frequently credited with "driving the yetis into the mountains" where they hunt the foolish and the unfortunate to this day.

Very little is actually concretely known about the yeti. Believed to reside within the Frostridge, Angrians and Phyrians have few contacts with the creatures for they rarely venture so far north into the mountains. The tribes of tundra humans that live there claim that the yeti are solitary hunters possessed of a deep cunning, and gladly feast on the flesh of the tribesmen. Though not known to communicate in any way except by howling, the tribes of the north believe the yeti is far more intelligent than any natural beast.

Basic Information

Anatomy

The yeti of legend stands over 3 meters tall, and even for its size has enormous hands. Relatively lanky for its enormous size, it is entirely covered in white fur, allowing it to blend into the snow in its wintry territory. Shaped roughly like a man, some scholars have even argued that the yeti is kin to the giantfolk of the Carac archipelago. However, the yeti's attested behavior makes this explanation unlikely.

I like that you've made it ambiguous whether or not the yeti is actually real or just a legend.
