Spirorbi

This universe contains Earth ruled by a large variety of gods in each their own way and a range of holy dimensions. Gods usually reside within holy dimensions and cannot interfere with each other. No god or range of gods are better than the others, but each influence followers in different ways. Gods cannot usually interact directly as the integrety of the world must be maintained, but can affect the world thorugh their followers, holy agents and by modifying the physical laws.  

Time and History

Time in this world follow the normal human calender of days (based on the turning of planet Earth), months (Based on the cycles of the Moon) and years (based on the movement of planet earth around the sun)

Major Events

 

Crusades

Battles of Christians in the Holy Land, which happened to be Holy to multiple religions.  

Witch Burnings

Period where humans burned individuals believed to be guilty of witchcraft and dealings with devil, on behalf of their abrahamic god.  

Life

Life on Earth includes normal animals and plants, but also gods and other spiritual beings.  

Humans

Simple mortals of earth, much lesser of the godly beings and short of obtain eternal peace.  

Godly beings

Beings of great power that are worshipped by humans and controlling the physical laws on Earth, as well as occationally visiting Earth in person.  

Lesser spiritual beings

Beings that are not gods but not humans either. Examples are jotun, devils, minotaurs, satyrs, sphinxes etc.

This world uses a classical Earthen map for planet Earth. In addition, mythological and godly planes exist.

Earth

Classical earth, home to humans  

Heaven

A place of comfortability which somes in multiple shapes and is a place to strive for in many religions.  

Hell

A place of suffering which comes in multiple different shapes to be used by different religions.  

Asgaard

Home to the Gods of norse mythology. Includes valhalla, which is where worshippers of norse mythology strive to go.  

Jotunheim

Home to the jotun, enemies of the gods of norse mythology.  

Mount Olympus

Home to the gods of Greek mythology.  

Otherworld

Home to the gods of Celtic mythology  

Diving Realm

Home to many divine beings such the Egyptian Gods.    

People

Major Social Groups

People holding the same belief systems would often stick together. This often resulted in wars of religion.

The last prophet of Abrahamic god.

Man who teaches the lifestyle of buddhists to obtain Nirvana  

Mother Teresa

Catholic nun and missionary who was in charge of a large amount of charity work and reciepient of the peace nobel prize  

Dalai Lama

Reincarnating buddhist leader.  

Resources and Activities

Humans have plenty of resources, though they can be depleted. Gods have much control over the availability and waste of resources.  

Belief systems

Abrahamic Religions

Includes Christianity, Islam and Judaism. Believers worship the same God in different ways. They must live according to their rules of their god to end up in heaven and avoid hell.  

Hinduism

Fusion of indian traditions, a way of life. Believers must live good lives to obtain Moksha and escape the cycle of rebirth.  

Taoism

A belief system with the goal of obtaining balance and detaching from personal desires  

Buddhism

  Belief system centered around the actions of Buddha, where believers cycle between the 31 planes of existence. Believers must strive to obtain Nirvana, that is to be free of that cycle.  

Norse Mythology

A system of gods. Believers must seek to become worthy of a place in Valhalla by being great warriors and dying in battle.  

Greek mythology

Collectiong of gods living at Mount Olympus  

Roman mythology

Belief system closely related to Greek mythology. Collection of similar types of gods.  

Egyption mythology

Belief system consisting of a pantheon of gods that day travel to their temples from the divine realms. Many gods are part human and part animal.  

Celtic mythology

Mythology similar to roman mythology of gods living in Otherworld  

Nature Spirituality

The worshipping of different aspects of nature and animals. Not entirely uniform, but performed in many areas around the world.

Geography

This setting uses a classic Earthen globe.

Fauna & Flora

Universe is inhabited by normal Earthen plants and animal, as well as godly beasts.

Natural Resources

Earth contains plenty of resources which are disproportionately distributed amongst devoteesof different religions.
