Ascended
You are one of the rare few who actually completed an education at one of the Four Illustrious Institutions of Magic. You underwent the grueling academics, the lengthy time in classrooms and have earned a title many strive for and few achieve. This Descriptor is typically reserved for Magen types (and bluntly probably doesn't have nearly as much use for non-Magen), but a truly creative character might be Ascended without being a Magen.
Learned: Gain +2 to your Intellect Pool
Institutionalized: Select an Institute; gain the benefit listed for that Institute.

Be trained while sneaking or otherwise trying to remain hidden. |

Mercy |
Sovereignty |

Connected: Interactions with all individuals directly (and positively) linked to your alma mater are eased.
Paragon
Watch. Alert. Protect. Your creed. By birth or acquisition, you have walked the Hallowed Halls at Oceangarde and been counted among the Paragons. While this honor is usually reserved for their Magen, many people from many backgrounds have been ordained as one of the Paragons. And it is your duty to protect and defend the virtue of Oceangarde, ensuring its way of life is not marred, diluted, or interrupted by the dangers that exist beyond its walls.
Protecting: The paragons are tough beyond words. Gain +2 to your Might Pool.
Watching: Become skilled with all skills related to watching and listening (but not necessarily searching).
Alerting: You possess an additional Cypher that does not require one of your Cypher carry slots. This Cypher is called the Beacon, and it is a small coin with the towers of Oceangarde on one side and the Paragon creedo on the other. Activating this Cypher will send a message to the Paragons of Oceangarde that you need help, and will help them find you. Once it is used, you must return to Oceangarde to secure a new Beacon.
Loyal: You are considered hindered when taking any action that can directly be linked to risk or negative consequence to Oceangarde.
Pael-Touched
The Splintering left a far worse mark on you than it did most. Perhaps the Pael Splintered directly through you, or perhaps it did so to your mother, leaving a mark on her womb that would carry to you upon birth. Regardless, there is something about you that now straddles the Pael and the mortal realm. This gift can be powerful, but unfortunately can also work both ways.
Pael - You possess a drained or slightly washed out appearance that leaves others unnerved by your presence. This makes social encounters hindered for you.
Enfused - Whatever left its mark on you made you stronger and faster than most. Gain +2 to your Speed Pool, and +2 to your Might Pool.
Fast-Travel - Your time to cross the Pael is reduced when compared to your fellows. You travel from one location to the next in half the time, bringing any traveling companions with you at the same rate.
Cypher Connection - On any Cypher with charges, when you exhaust the last charge, you may roll an Intellect 4 check. Success will enable you to have one more charge.
Indecisive
You just can't seem to make a decision. You wait on the fence, trying to figure out what the right thing is to do regardless of what it is. This almost paralyzing hesitation results you in always being a step or two late to every dance, but it does have the benefit of
Slow to Act - All initiative rolls are considered hindered.
