Sorcerer

At any given point in history, Altanruhl has been watched over and protected by a singular powerful figure known as the Sorcerer, with Gevok di'Beltruth being considered the current reigning Sorcerer (now known as The Second Sorcerer).  The Sorcerer claims oversight of the entire world, but is only revered as a nigh-deific entity in most Western Kingdoms.  While there are only two Sorcerers commonly acknowledged in the minds of the people, those who delve deep into history know that there have been several over the course of thousands of years.  The Sorcerer prior to Gevok simply happened to be in control for several thousand years and became taken for granted.
Sorcerers are said to command mastery over all five Virtues of the Pael, and some are even rumored to exhibit power beyond that.  Different Sorcerers have maintained different levels of interaction with the people of the world, with some styling themselves as gods and demanding worship to others being completely withdrawn and ignored by and large.
