The Five Gods of Origin

They made the sacrifice of perfection so that the world could take its first steps.
The Five Gods of Origin are the five initial Gods who created the world. It began with the four Corporeal Gods, Auxtro, Min, Frae, and Praudena, and the Incorporeal God Venkunalis. Their origins are all unknown, unlike any proceding God to be created by these five.

The Story

The world began with a ball of clay formed by the hands of Min. The clay in the center hardened to become stone, and the clay on the surface softened to become fertile soil. From there, she planted foliage. Though decorated and strong, the world was still yet dry.   It was then Frae's turn. He took the world, carved out grooves in the barren land, and filled it with water. The oceans contained their own forms of foliage, while the surface remained untouched, but hydrated by the new addition. And yet, the world was far too cold.   Auxtro then created the Sun. As the Sun orbited around the newborn planet, it would keep the surface warm and comfortable. But that wasn't all - he hollowed out the core of the planet and filled it with its own warmth, keeping it healthy from the inside out. Mountains were formed from the clay he removed from the center, and some even became volcanoes. Min, in return, gave the Sun a companion - the Moon. The two would work in tandem to alternate day and night. Alas, the world could not yet breathe.   So the goddess Praudena gave the world wind and clouds. She put a protective layer over the planet to protect it from the harmful aspects of the Sun, and she made sure each of Min's foliage could have air. The world was complete - and so came life.   Venkunalis, satisfied with the progress of the four, finally blessed the planet with life. Not only could the plants now sway, so too did animals and sentience first begin. And so, the five Gods called this planet their home.   ... And yet, for some reason, the five felt that there was still something missing. The world was so perfect and meticulously crafted, yes, but at what cost? The plants stayed ultimately the same. The animals had nothing to do except exist. Though gorgeous, it was stagnant. Praudena and Frae, who at this point had become married, had an idea. The two Gods had a child, Riyo, who would become the God of Time. Once he was born, the very first rain fell. The world took its first steps into not perfection, but progression.

Damn thats a good myth, I really enjoyed reading it. The quote is quite powerful too. I like that the gods made the choice of an unperfect world, to instead give it its own room to grow, thats quite a nice idea.   Fun fact, Min is actually the name of one of the oldest known Egyptian gods (kinda, skipping over a lot of details), and probably also one of the oldest gods we know about ^^

Thank you! I thought it was a sweet concept, I'm glad you liked it.   Also, I had no idea about that part, hah! Vulgarlang just spat the name "Min" out and I liked it. What a neat coincidence.

This is such a lovely origin myth. I like how every god had something to add to the world - and I really like the idea that perfection equals stagnation.
