When the Wind Blows

A film written and directed by the mage Mr. Arkadin released in 1994. Starring Willem Dafoe as a driftless artist returning to his Rust Belt hometown to investigate the death of his industrialist father, the film was described by critics as a spiritual sequel to the Magnificent Ambersonsas it explored a ravaged post-industrial Midwest.    Mr. Arkadin believed that returning to his home state of Wisconsin would help him unlock more mysteries surrounding his magical abilities, but a series of supernatural events in Milwaukee interrupted with several of the rituals he had planned for the filming. The film would go on to win several Oscars at the 67th Academy Awards, including a shocking win for Willem Dafoe as Best Actor over Tom Hanks for his role in Forrest Gump. Despite being one of Mr. Arkadin's most commercially successful films, it still struggled to break even at the box office and the mage once again found himself hat in hand asking around for funding for his next project.
