On a hot summer morning off the Vegas Strip, a small fan club devoted to the radio DJ Ms. Mystery met together to discuss the Vegas World Massacre. It'd been a frequent topic of discussion on Ms. Mystery's broadcasts, and as every member of the fan club knew somebody killed that New Year's Eve they decided to take matters into their own hands. K was on a first-name basis with several supernatural entities, Eleanor had abundant resources to piece together the mystery, and David would be able to get them past any security system in Sin City. Naturally, their investigation began at the Vegas World Casino. Unusually busy due to an influx of convention-goers, David managed to quickly purchase on the floor above the site of the Massacre. Picking locks and hacking into security cameras, the three of them explored the 15th floor where so much violence had occured eight months prior while waiting for footage to download onto David's laptop. Strange notes, pieces of furniture full of bullet holes, and mysterious runic symbols carved all deepened the mystery and convinced the group that something more sinister was afoot. Their investigation was interrupted by shadows and knocking on doors, as a horde of wraiths recreated their final moments before the massacre. Eleanor managed to use an old artifact to cut through the shadows and wraiths, but not without suffering from the coldness inflicted by the wraiths. Driving up to the suburbs of Summerlin Eleanor showed David and K her safe house inside the library of the Meadows private school. Playing the footage from the security camera, the three of them got an uncensored look at the Ghostface Killer: a tall humanoid being with long bony figures that could slice a person open with a single touch, his face hidden behind a yellow hood and white mask. Shuddering as Ghostface stared straight the camera before continuing with the massacre, the final police shootout ended off-camera leading them to speculate on whether the killer had escaped or not. The disturbing footage gave them plenty of leads to follow at least, Eleanor researching druidic summoning rituals and David cross-referencing the footage with a list of guests on the 15th floor to determine if anybody was unaccounted for during the Massacre. Meanwhile K called up an old contact from Portland for a referral to anybody who could look into the rituals more, and lucky for the hunters a whole bunch of mages were in Vegas that week for a week-long conferance!
