Staking out the Viv news outlet outlet after sharing K's story about vampires to Jenny Slater, the hunters catched Eleanor up on the situation while they waited to see how Moe Green would respond. Within an hour a sedan pulled up in the parking lot behind the strip mall, an intimidating vampire named Franz Schenk flanked by two mobsters rushing in to deal with the conspiracy-minded journalist. The party raced inside after David quickly unlocked the front door, rushing towards the newsroom where Jenny was about to become Franz's midnight snack. K interrupted the vampire's blood sorcery with a blast of her enchanted flashlight, becoming Franz's victim instead as a geyser of blood burst from her carotid artery and floated in the air towards his ravenous mouth. The other hunters backed up K in this fight with the supernatural, Eleanor slashing at Franz with her magic knife while David dispatched the mooks with a couple of well-timed shots. Desperate to escape, Franz shoved aside his would-be victim and raced down the back hallways of the newsroom only to get shot and staked to death before even making it to the car. Despite the brush with death, the hunters now had their first kill on the board. Jenny's cameraman had died in the run-in with Franz and the mobsters, but this didn't phase the reporter at all as she ordered David to start filming B-roll footage for her story on the assault. While Jenny started writing up the night's events the rest of the group searched through Franz's car for any more leads to use against Moe Green, discovering a map with a couple of locations marked near Lake Tahoe and the wealthier suburbs of Vegas. The cops arrived not long after midnight, but in return for saving her life she let the hunters leave without having their connection to the raid revealed. Despite pressure from K, she refused to admit that CEO of Viv Media Cella Vivaldi had summoned the Ghostface Killer the night of the Vegas World Massacre. With K patched up and given enough drugs to enter a stage of nirvana, the group split up for the night and agreed to meet up at Eleanor's library the following morning. Jenny's report on the attack made national news, but despite the reporter's best efforts to cover the vampiric element of the attack most outlets were content to focus on the mob connections and its implications for Vegas' long-term corruption. Feeling the heat and knowing that Moe wouldn't let the group sleep easy after murdering his right-hand man, the hunters agreed to start looking into some of the hideouts discovered in Franz's car.
