Ice Rain
Not to be confused with the alternate Ice Rain ability known by the ice drake of Aquamarine, this human version of Ice Rain is only known by Taylor Feer, the wielder who invented this variation of the spell which on its own deals devastating piercing ice damage to multiple targets on the field close to the explosive radius of effect. The wielder begins by launching what appears to be an overcharged Ice Bolt projectile, one that has a lot more speed and dynamic movement style. Once this bolt of ice comes close to the target, the projectile ascends higher into the air by a couple of meters, only to explode, causing about 100 sharp glowing needles of ice to shoot in all designated directions (excluding the direction of the sender). These sharp needles contain ice elemental magic, which on an individual level have a power level of nine, and a highly intense piercing chain. Targets are mostly hit by more than one of these needles, and suffer intense nerve and muscle pain, to the point of near-paralysis when multiple needles enter their body. Unlike most similar abilities such as Ice Needles or Needle Barrage, these hot glowing splintering beams remain inside of the target's body for an extended duration of time, keeping their pain going while the chilling cold of each needle lowers the internal body temperature more over time. Because of the directional impact, this sphere can explode and affect multiple targets in a single invocation. And if the blast goes off too close to just one person, the effects would lead to an instant knockout. Ice Rain registers so strongly given its unique combination of elements that the pain threshold exceeds what should be allowed by the Leray veil, while the accumulative power level may be enough to draw blood after breaking through the skin.

Side/Secondary Effects
As seen with ice elemental magic, this ability will without fail lower the target's body temperature sharply, inducing a reaction that slows that person down, and over time may cause the onset of hypothermia. In addition to this, the pain level of these needles is so powerful that the tension in the muscles towards the penetrated parts of the body causes a kind of tightness that makes it very difficult to move without making the stinging pain throughout the body much worse.
Manifestation
The initial sphere looks like a bolt of ice. Once the sphere swirls upwards and explodes, over 100 glowing sky-blue needles are shot out in multiple directions, penetrating into the skin of the target and disabling them with the damage. When the sphere explodes, it creates this loud muffled blast as if a seismic explosion occurred under several blankets of snow, while the effects generate a cold mist upon the explosion from the area of the bolt that can instantly freeze water.

Discovery
Taylor Feer invented the Ice Rain ability by combining a large number of lower level ice spells into one ultimate ability designed to inflict heavy piercing damage while lowering the target's speed and body temperature, if not by the freezing cold than by the incredible pain that is stronger in this ability than the protection of the Leray veil.
