Dark magic, which oddly can only exist because of the Leray veil, is magic invoked during a direct magical conversion of energy signatures, in which the resulting energy signature is of direct opposition to the Leray magic format, thus creating a new form of magic that can affect targets while simultaneously preventing the veil's protective effects from protecting that target. Dark magic is naturally more powerful than Leray magic by an estimated factor of +320%, and usually seems to retain the same visual properties of normal Leray magic before the official update of 1930-C, forcing the signature of dark magic in action to retain specific visual effects. Dark magic is rumored to be usable by anyone, and possibly maintains some deeper connection with individual negative emotions as a conduit of focus.
