Dark Beam
Dark Beam is a dark magic specific ability, but one that also has two different variations of the ability with slightly different effects. Dark Beam was originally designed to be the ultimate dark magic execution spell, used to kill any human being with just a single invocation regardless of whether the veil is protecting them or not, and is therefore extremely dangerous. The spell has the same verbal chant or name for both variations, with variation one being less severe and lethal, and variation 2 being the ultimate killing beam of death it is known for by the underworld.
In Variation 1:
Dark Beam starts from the wielder's dark magic glyphring formed around their wrist aimed at the opponent, a glyphring of average size. This ability has a slightly longer than usual invocation period, so careful aiming and the timing of release is important when launching the ability at a distant opponent. Despite the name, the initial payload of this variation of Dark Beam is not a beam of energy at all, but rather a power packed bolt of intense dark energy with a hidden effect. This single glowing red bolt of dark magic is blasted towards the opponent at a high rate of speed, while given homing properties to reduce the chance that it can be dodged. Regardless of the armor being worn, once the bolt hits the target, they are hit with two payloads instead of just one. Upon impact, the target takes minor real time damage from the bolt burning through their skin and rejecting their protection from the veil. About 0.3 seconds later, the bolt of energy summons the rest of the magical energy it held inside, marking the opposite end of the same target with a barely visible rotating holographic targeting glyphring that then becomes blasted by an intense red beam of energy. This beam of dark magic strikes from the opposite side of the impact location of the bolt, but is strong enough to penetrate the entire body on both sides, inflicting heavier real time damage just after the impact of the bolt. This beam impact is enough to break open skin and draw blood, though it is not always a lethal blow. Due to the 0.3 second delay in between both hits, it is technically possible to dodge the second beam of the attack even after taking the initial hit from the bolt. In Variation 2:
The wielder summons as much compressed dark magic energy and hatred as possible, which slowly generates a controllable targeting glyphring in front of them, though the glyphring itself is not necessary for the damage to this spell. The wielder spends a great deal of time overcharging the dark beam ability as much as they possibly can, with this ability being one of the very few that can successfully be overcharged. Those who aren't ready will suffer from a sudden explosion of their own magic if they cannot control the amount of energy they put in, thus is lots of practice needed. When the ability is overcharged enough, the glowing red beam of death is unleashed in a single instance through that wielder's glowing hand, striking the target with manual accuracy. Used in this format, this beam has enough power to break and punch through several feet of solid steel, and can easily put a gaping 2-3 inch hole through both ends of the human body as well as the armor that target is wearing. This is the lethal version of the Dark Beam spell, which when used correctly works every time to painfully put a fatal wound through a human target that will quickly cause them to bleed out, regardless of the presence of the Leray veil. The only downside of this ability is its very long invocation charge-up time, and the need to overcharge the ability, which usually costs a lot of personal MP points.

Gestures & Ritual
Most dark magic spells require a wielder to tap into their inner rage and anger, or general hatred for something before they can properly invoke dark magic, which often leads to the lure of dark magic sucking in their mind and addicting them to the sensation entirely. Certain dark magic spells require different intensity levels of this rage and hatred, while some do not require it at all, like the spell Star of Darkness and Dark Lite. Dark Beam is a spell that requires a higher level of hatred and rage. Of course, one must know how to invoke dark magic before being capable of using the ability. It also helps to have learned any non-elemental beam ability, such as Hyper Beam.
