Dark Bolt

Dark Bolt is a simplistic dark magic ability, one that is easy to practice with and easy to understand. As with all other elemental bolt abilities, such as Fire Bolt, Ice Bolt, etc., Dark Bolt simply generated a red/black dark magic glyphring around the wielder's wrist and launches a single projectile infused with dark magical energy. The impact from this kind of bolt only reduced the target's HP while inflicting a small amount of real time damage at the same time. A certain level of rage or hatred is needed to invoke this skill properly. The power level of Dark Bolt is not that high, but then the spell is also designed for low level mitigation attacks or practice with dark magic itself.

Manifestation

Upon the initial generation of the dark glyphring, a cool downshifting energy collapse sound is generated. The glyphring itself has a red and black mix of coloration, and the charging of which causes the wielder's eyes to glow red as with the glowing eye effect.

Discovery

Dark Bolt was one of the earliest dark magic abilities, discovered by dark mages who wanted to invent a new format aside from Leray magic and lunar magic. The discovery of the dark magic attribute was accidental, but proven highly effective against Leray magic with no negative health consequences. So, it became more useful during the Avion War.

Most dark magic spells require a wielder to tap into their inner rage and anger, or general hatred for something before they can properly invoke dark magic, which often leads to the lure of dark magic sucking in their mind and addicting them to the sensation entirely. Certain dark magic spells require different intensity levels of this rage and hatred, while some do not require it at all, like the spell Star of Darkness and Dark Lite.
