Gamma-Spur

Gamma-Spur is one of the most popular and unique abilities native only to the dark magic format, designed in such a way that it cannot effectively be reverse engineered to follow the Leray format of magic under any alternative variation. Gamma-Spur is also one of the most dangerous dark magic spells, capable of bombarding a small area with intense levels of ionizing gamma radiation. Magic would normally be incapable of creating something of this magnitude or effect. But the way Gamma-Spur functions has something to do with atomic rearrangements of known chemical substances and the generation of similar enough airborne material. In effect, a single invocation of this short-ranged spell puts enough harmful radiation to a target that it will either fry the internal organs instantly if the power level and aim is direct enough, or deliver a short term terminal cancer from the death and mutation of many internal cells. The manifestation of the spell forms a kind of small cloud or mist about half the size of an average human, sometimes smaller. This cloud can inflict incredible amounts of real time damage in the form of gamma radiation as well as intense skin burns from the heat that is generated from the ability.
The ability is most popular among dark mages, or to the ranks of the Scarlet Cult, on count of its absolute effectiveness in an execution spell. Gamma-Spur does not take a lot of MP to use, though it does require training of the spell and the intense hatred needed to generate the kind of malice that is observed only in dark magic spells. Though this is one of the ultimate death spells for humans, the only downside is the highly limited range of the ability, and the total impossibility of changing the spawning location of this spell. It must be released from the hands of the wielder. If targeted to the head, this spell will easily fry the brain, killing any human instantly.

Side/Secondary Effects

The nearly invisible radiation cloud will burn the skin of anyone it touches. The magic easily penetrates through the skin of humans and most armors. If penetration does occur, there is an extremely high chance of developing cancer within weeks, if the radiation doesn't fry any vital organs before that time. A more direct hit will destroy internal cells and large organs, causing instant death. Only full coverage metal suits made entirely out of lead can resist this spell.

Manifestation

The magic spans outward in multiple forward directions from one or both hands from the wielder. At a slightly longer range, this creates a radiation cloud that is barely visible, mostly transparent, and appears as a particle cloud with a red coloration. If used closer, under most circumstances, this radiation is not visible to the eyes.
