Lunar sickness is a secret condition well-guarded by the government. Simply put, using lunar magic is dangerous and often lethal because no wielder has enough ME levels to support the pure format of magic. Thus, invocation of lunar magic causes a collection of physical problems and ailments throughout the body over a long duration of time. However, lunar sickness refers mostly to the immediate symptoms those share, which are all incredibly similar if not exactly the same. Anyone with lunar sickness who knows about the dangers of lunar magic also knows that they have been given a death sentence, one that may span over months of time as their health gradually degrades.

Causes
Using lunar magic will trigger the first symptoms. However, some wielders may be capable of avoiding lunar sickness through the use of lunar magic altogether, by only using a very small amount of lunar magic. The damaged accumulation however is permenant.
Symptoms
The immediate symptoms are all easily identifiable and shared among all wielders who contract this condition. The symptoms begin with strong dizziness and lightheadedness with occasional disorientation of the senses. Trouble with movement, consciousness, tingling, vomiting, nose/eye bleeds, intense headaches, blindness, and loss of bladder control are common. What makes this easy to identify is that once the symptoms set in, they do not easily go away. Over time, the symptoms will subside only to return in fragments, along with other symptoms of new ailments, most of the time becoming cancer of varying levels. During ancient history, one of the many longer-term symptoms was lunar madness.
Treatment
While thought to be no cure, it may be theoretically possible to make a full recovery from the use of lunar magic, so long as that wielder did not use too much, and if the admission to the medical facility is quick enough. The treatment to be administered other than general assistance in recovery medication would be strong doses of anti-radiation and anti-mutation drugs imported to Sprawn Valley from other allied nations. Administered quickly enough, death and cancer may be avoidable. Despite what aspects of lunar magic are kept secret, the magic medical community is fully aware of this information and are always prepared to treat lunar sickness.
Prognosis
Most who suffer lunar sickness do not make it to a medical facility with a proper diagnosis in time to be treated, so most end up dying from causes various given the sporadic internal damages throughout the body. Most long-term deaths occur from cancer. Short-term deaths occur from intense genetic damage or mutation resembling the effects of extreme radiation poisoning. Before Leray magic became a wide installment of society, nobody knew that treating lunar sickness was possible, for those who realize they could use lunar magic anyway.
Prevention
Simply do not use lunar magic.
History
The experiments of lunar magic as it was first discovered brought light to the dangers it caused. Leray magic was its cure.
