Magic Elements and Damage Types: Non-Elemental Magical Damage
Magic doesn't have to retain an elemental property. Elemental magic is designed to gain a damage difference of advantage over an opponent with a potential disability. But unless used for that intended purpose, elemental magic actually doesn't do a proportionate amount of HP damage for maximization. Non-elemental magic will ignore any special elemental resistances or weaknesses that a target may have. This also means that without any resistance or weakness, a target hit with non-elemental magic will sustain higher amounts of HP damage. But non-elemental magic is also usually higher in power level, harder to maintain, and therefore must be employed strategically.
