Magic Whip
A magic whip, also known as the energy whip is based on the design of the torture device, but uses a magic crystal to generate a tangible substance of energy, extending into a ranged whip device that can activate and extend or deactivate and retract. The design of the weapon is such that removing it from an active veil will not destroy or damage the device. Whips can be powerful weapons in terms of how much damage or real time damage they can inflict. Energy Whips use magic in order to generate the substance of the weapon which also amplifies the potential damage rating altogether. Those with a magic whip literally have the power to destroy or damage physical objects, while the whip itself can cut through or badly bruise the skin of a human, if protection from veil zero were to be removed for instance. Magic whips are not common however, as they are relatively new devices in field testing. Current evaluations for these weapons show that they are designed to invoke pain and torture more than they are useful for apprehending criminals.
Mechanics & Inner Workings
The energy crystal inside of the small hilt device is rechargeable and generates energy in a specific waveform pattern that gives shape to this energy whip. The simulated string in question always retains a strong blue glowing color, while subject to the full effects of gravity. Users can control the average length of the whip and adjust them accordingly. For reasons other than the obvious improvement in potential damage ratings, this kind of whip provides other advantages standard whips do not.
