Median-Flare

Median Flare takes the energy from Flare, and redirects all of that energy to the user's hands while modulating the charged MP energy, power level, angle of attack, range, and projection effectiveness to intentionally put that new energy into a short range attack using the same kind of energy and damage from the light screen. Essentially, Median Flare only damages the target from a wide-angle forward area emanating through that wielder's hands, cutting the cost of MP energy dramatically without too much sacrifice to the power level of the skill. The wielder gets more discretion on their aim of the skill while only targeting opponents in a forward area of them, about 155 degrees with a range of 11 meters. The projection also packs a small kinetic punch, giving the new light screen the ability to push back in force. And the best part of the spell is its ability to be invoked rapidly despite the MP cost.     Predecessor Spells: Flare

Manifestation

The wielder projects this light screen at a severely reduced range and angle of attack to a tall and wide forward area with 77.5 degrees in either direction from the center. This still makes the ability hard to avoid if used at a close enough range. The impact of the light can push back or unbalance the target with an invisible kinetic force attached, and the shifting sounds of magic air follow the pattern of this kinetic movement. When the wielder projects this field, it is essential that their hand positions, gestures, and total posture are all correct and accurate, or else the projection of the light screen can easily backfire.

Gestures & Ritual
The wielder must begin by instantly charging half the energy requirement into each hand, splitting the spell's initial aura. Then, that wielder must quickly put the bottom of their hands together, open and flat at an obtuse angle with their arms far out in front of them, all while shoving the arms forward. With that momentum, the wielder than blasts all of that energy outward from their hands in a single instance, causing that energy to project and resonate together as it is blasted out at the speed of sound. The posture needs to be strong and careful, since a kind of shove into this energy is needed to get the projection going forward. Failure in any of these steps will cause the invocation to fail or misfire. Unlike most spells, there is less room for error in the required gestures for casting this ability.
