Percussion

Percussion improves on the design of the infamous Redemption spell, dramatically cutting the cost of MP energy as well as the general power level of each vertical beam to make the spell less risky to perform and more easily handled when using in the field. Percussion is essentially a similar spell to Redemption, but one that is far more conservative. When the wielder casts Percussion, the familiar five vertical beams of green and white lights all spawn fairly close surrounding the target from five separate angles. These beams generate the same kind of sound and move in a difficult to track spiraling motion. The primary difference however is that these beams go in the reverse direction, spiraling inwards towards the target instead of spiraling outwards from the user. The result causes all five beams to clash and collide together in the same small fixed impact point, which means there is almost a guarantee that all five of these powerful beams of light will impact the same opponent with just one invocation.   Despite being less powerful, Percussion has enough advantages to be considered the better offset spell than Redemption for numerous reasons. For one, Percussion has a much quicker and more sudden invocation period than Redemption, which already is a spell that can strike quickly. Percussion begins by surrounding the opponent from a position away from the user, making it even more difficult to dodge the beams. There is almost a guarantee that at least one of these beams will hit the target with attempts to dodge, and a higher chance that more beams will hit than with Redemption given the angle of attack vectors. Additionally, the MP cost of Percussion is more fixed and less strenuous on the magical circuits of wielders who use this ability, eliminating any potential risk or side effect from using this ability as observed with Redemption. Percussion can also be improved greatly over time with additional practice, dramatically making a difference when the wielder has leveled up their power by practice enough to become more efficient and stronger than Redemption with about half the MP cost. While Percussion inflicts Leray damage in the same manner as Redemption, these five vertical beams of light still shimmer and wind up with their energetic noise, making it one of the most beautiful and aesthetic attack spells on top of everything else. Learning how to use Percussion is the only difficult downside of this ability.     Predecessor Spells: Redemption

Discovery

Taylor Feer practiced tirelessly with the Redemption spell just to invent a new variation of the spell that would be easier to use by generating a similar ability on a lower power level scale. Percussion was the ability that she came up with. This power is not yet officially in the spell book, but a submission has been made to have the mage council review this ability.
Gestures & Ritual
This ability is difficult to learn. Because a tremendous amount of energy must be expended immediately and suddenly, wielders casting this spell must visualize their target and the target area, while dispersing this magic through their hand with sudden impulse. Many wielders therefore look as if they are lunging out their arm, throwing their energy in a singular forward direction before the manifestation of this spell.
