Return Fire
Return Fire is an interesting Leray ability that produces a different effect and power level each time, depending totally on the last couple of attacks that was sustained by the user in the same battle. Many still do not fully understand how this freeform mechanism works, but many claim it relies heavily on the unseen digital matrix of the Leray veil specifically in determining exactly how to function and how to track what last enemy attacks were used on a battlefield. Since Return Fire can work the same way without a Siriean dome, there is much debate on the topic entirely.
Return Fire will have no effect whatsoever if it is used before the wielder using it has not yet received or witnessed an attack spell from any nearby enemy within 2 minutes of a duration. When an opponent uses an attack, Return Fire analyzes the last attacks used, up to three total, and creates a randomized effect in terms of an attack or support spell that is designed to greatly oppose that same power. For example, if a wielder hits the mage with three powerful ice-elemental spells, then that mage using Return Fire shortly after is very likely to manifest an ability equal in power level to all three attacks combined, and while producing the element that is stronger against ice magic; fire magic. Return Fire sometimes will ignore the power level limit when achieving these results; that means that if the user of Return Fire took two attacks, one with a power level of 9 and another with a power level of 8, their Return Fire may manifest an attack effect with a power level of 12 or above. Or, the ability produced may instead become one designed to defend that wielder against strong magic attacks using some kind of aura. The effects vary each time, almost never yielding the same result in battle. Return Fire however has one weakness; the effect it produces can sometimes be unhelpful, more often when the last 2-3 attacks it analyzes are not very powerful in total. Using Return Fire against three different kinds of received attack spells all with power levels between 4-6 may yield only a single spell that produced a power level of 6 in return, but all while keeping the same base cost of using Return Fire. The wielder will never know what comes out of a Return Fire spell until after the ordinance is launched.

Manifestation
In the initial phase of Return Fire, the wielder creates a large pale-white glyphring around their wrist that may almost touch the ground because of its size. Once the effects begin, whatever spell is meant to manifest will do so right in front of this light-shade glyphring, often without being in direct control of the user.

MP usage may have a base of 10% for the initiation of this spell, but how much is used afterwards depends on what effects are generated from the manifestation of the ability.
