Spike Needle

Spike Needle is an unrestricted undisciplined dark magic skill that is designed to cripple opponents with the crushing pain of long magic needles that puncture all the way through several parts of the body. Some evaluation has proven that the protection from the veil still provides just enough protection to prevent this skill from instantly killing wielders and preventing critical damage to the internal organs, but the protection cannot stop real time damage from accumulating. The spell generates a large collection of long spikes from under the ground of the target, causing this barrage (about 16 spikes) to suddenly shoot up at sonic speed, which instantly opens small flesh wounds while splattering blood everywhere. The stinging pain is so intense that several limbs can effectively be disabled with just a single invocation of this spell. While instant death can be prevented with partial protection from the veil, serious real time damage and bleeding will occur to those hit by this spike storm. Two or three hits should be enough to kill any Leray wielder, or one if there is for any reason no protection from the Leray veil.

Manifestation

With the Leray veil, piercing objects phase through the body like a hologram and only stamina damage is inflicted on the HP gauge. With partial real time damage such as this attack, these spikes do not phase through the body in the same way, but the internal organs and important veils are still prioritized in protection, which makes the main problem minor to moderate bleeding. If not protected by a veil, this will be instantly lethal and very gory.

While it is unknown who came up with this deadly ability, Immersa Azerbond has proven capable of invoking the skill. Spike Needle was thought to be a popular choice of dark magic used by the Liberator faction in the Avion Wars.
