Teleportation Crystal

Teleportation crystals are extremely rare items mostly used and reserved by the top mages and elites of the Sprawn Valley government and military. Using high quality Leray crystals that ultimatley come from Eupharus Island, these power-packed stones are capable of invoking long-range teleportation and creating a teleportation symbol for the wielder that activates this. Teleportation on entry and exit nodes does require a connection to the veil, so no wielder may teleport outside of Sprawn Valley from within or the other way around. These crystals are highly useful in emergency situations, and can still function from an alternative power source if something were to happen to the veil.

Mechanics & Inner Workings

The item works similarly to that of a magic orb, despite not being encapsulated. The teleportation spell links with the circuits of the user who activates the crystal. It is then up to the user to concentrate and focus on where the destination coordinates are going to be. If brought outside of Sprawn Valley, the crystal may fail, but it can last outside much longer than other objects, despite remaining useless as the user would have no initial magic activation for the crystal.

Significance

A teleportation crystal in effect grants full long-range Leray magic powered teleportation from that user and any nearby characters to another location anywhere else in Sprawn Valley. They can be activated easily, and invoked quickly, pulling anyone out of a dangerous situation during an emergency. They are seldom handed to authorized mages who already know how to invoke long range teleportation using the actual spell.

These crystals are extremely rare and not availible to the general public. The base price only represents the average cost to prepare a teleportation crystal. Teleportation crystals require some of the highest quality assemblies of crystal shards as well as a tough activation by top mages to become functional in the first place. Once used, they are dissolved and gone forever. Only high level government or military officials prepare to use these items for emergency purposes only.
