Veil Sight

The innate ability to see elements and creatures from a parallel universe dubbed The God Realm.
To most who have the sight - if not all - the sight picks up the veil between universes, that gives everything vibrant flowing colors.
Madness goes hand in hand for many with this sight - especially if not born with it.

Transmission & Vectors

While the condition is a genetic mutation, in very modern times, some have claimed to witness the Veil Sight by other means.

Causes

The cause for this condition is unknown.

Symptoms

Your eyes see the world in a multitude of ever changing colors, and they can see things and beings from a parallel universe or dimension.

Treatment

Some opt to have their eyes replaced with cybernetic implants as it is the only permanent solution, but there have been made pills and gene-mods, that can dull your color perception.

Prognosis

The most likely scenario sees the afflicted either becoming junkies, unable to cope with it, or joining up with the The Church of Many Colors, who consider it a gift from their Interstellar Gods. If one happens to be afflicted with Moon Skin as well, the Church will very happily see you join them.
If one happens to grow up far away from the drug infested cities and rainbow robed reverents, the best thing to do is to try and ignore it. Some find solace in medication, others in the bottle.

Sequela

The sight effect of this virulent display of colors and space giants can mean madness to the typical mind.
The ones afflicted with Moon Skin seem less prone to the madness of Veil Sight than others.

History

While wild halucinations are a common effect of many afflictions of the mind throughout history, this modern concept of Veil Sight is not much older than the start of space colonization, however both philosophers and scientists have surmised that the condition is much older than that, and can be connected with religious visions of shamans, cultists and greek oracles as old as recorded history.

Cultural Reception

Most people tend to avoid those proclaiming to have the Sight. They are seen as unmedicated mental patients or doom prophets.
The openly afflicted are usually ostracized and avoided,

I made this world because my mind keeps rambling, and instead of stopping it, I'm riding the wave.
It started with a picture in my mind of a tiger man in a small spacecraft following a giant tiger in space, in the tone of old saturday morning cartoons and the Heavy Metal animated movie.
Then came the idea of his occational ally, a woman in space flying a small asteroid. The more I wrote on her, the more I got intrigued by the past, I deviced.
Right now the flow is focused on her background - namely all related to The Genesis Project.
I do all of the writing and almost all of the drawing myself at this point.
My hope for Star Tiger is a published story or a graphical novel, but my big dream is an animated show.
