One of the basic mining droid models, the Mk. I is a cheap and simple droid that was mass produced to meet the needs of many mining operations across the galaxy. Easily repairable, and if needed replaceable, they were long used for quick dirty mining operations where the priority was quantity of mining rather than quality.

BEHAVIOR
A semi-sentient droid, the mining droid mk. I was built for the sole purpose of excavating valuable ores in areas potentially hazardous to humanoid workers. Programmed to work in small groups, they often are overseen by a sentient engineer that can observe any environmental damage that may occur to them. A secondary core program in their system requires them to help evacuate any wounded organic employees they sense within mining areas.
HISTORY
