Imperial Special Research Group

After the destruction of the first Death Star, the Emperor increased military spending with the intent of suppressing the nascent rebellion through direct action. However, with the previous research division having been infiltrated by rebel sympathizers due to mismanagement, special consideration was given to the security and defense of these projects.
The Special Research Group was the result. Under the leadership of Moff Gaunt Sevrann of Serrenno. The formation spearheaded a number of secret weapons programs, foremost of these being the development of the Emperor’s flagship: the Eclipse.
With a substantial security force comprised of multiple star destroyer battle groups and a ground contingent comprised of the finest stormtrooper divisions available, the ISRG posed a premier threat to the longevity of the Rebel Alliance.
