The Loj system is the primary supplier of Kaffa beans to the Kanzi Sector. While other planets may have small areas that produce Kaffa, the planet Knod is the producer of the Kaffa that is sold at the big chain retailers throughout the sector. Their primary product is a good-quality, medium roast Kaffa, but they also produce some rarer strains and different roasts that are much more valuable. The Imperial Governor of this system has a pretty cushy post. Cen Ardes gets all the high quality Kaffa that he can drink, rules over a peaceful planet with a law-abiding populace and enjoys the finer things that his part of the taxes pay for. His forces are limited to a garrison base on each of the major continents, and a small contingent of the Imperial Customs Service stationed at the starport. Knod is a common stop for small tramp freighter as Kaffa is always in demand in the smaller, more remote systems which do not have the big galactic chain stores.
