EPISODE XV: The World of Secrets
General Summary
Having narrowly escaped imperial forces above the ice planet of Ando Prime, our heroes and their new allies rendezvous in the Bothawui system to rest, regroup, and repair their battered vessels.
Though Kro and Lassa manage to contain most of the critical damage, it is clear that they will need a proper maintenance facility before attempting another jump. However, finding a berth on Bothawui or any of the planet's orbital stations proved to be yet another challenge.
The Bothan homeworld was notorious for its tightly controlled borders and imposing security restrictions. Destiny, it seems, would not be so easily turned aside, as a mysterious benefactor granted our heroes clearance to land at a designated facility.
Upon arriving at the provided coordinates, Kro was surprised to be greeted by his former employer and head of IsoTech, Reom. After a brief and unexpectedly warm reception, the party was invited to join Reom for dinner as his service droids began the necessary repairs.
Having to excuse himself for business, Reom left the duty of hosting his guests to his trusted confidant, IT-3, while Pyjack was graciously given access to a bacta tank. A limited tour of the "IsoCorp" headquarters seemed to reveal little of the company's dealings (or any trappings of business at all).
After secured an adequate bay to begin repairs, Kro was greeted by another face from the past - Reom's sister and prolific talent scout, Shira .
Shira insisted that Kro and Azameen visit her after dinner to accept a "gift." Weary of causing any offense to such accommodating hosts, the two agreed to the meeting.
Not altogether convinced of their gracious host's intentions, Kro gave Perfide leave to explore their new environs on his own.
With business settled and repairs underway, the party was shown to a guest suite on an upper level. After some deliberation, our heroes donned some provided finery and prepared for dinner.
Azameen, Kro, Grunt, J'ren, an uncharacteristically sedate Sinjir, and one fashionably late Lassa Sterling all joined their host Reom and his other guests for some fine dining and light conversation.
Reom wasted little time touting the success of his recent ventures, while his esteemed guest, Fenri Fen'varesk, seemed much more interested in Kro and his infamous exploits.
After several courses, an unfamiliar group marched into the dining hall. A woman with an armed escort claimed to represent the Alliance and announced her intent to collect their "asset" Sinjir. Judging by their demeanor, Reom and his guest Fenri seemed to have been expecting this encounter.
Rather than risk a diplomatic incident, Kro encouraged his crew to consent to the woman's demands. Sinjir, still under J'ren's calming influence, was led away without protest.
With the mood soured, the party returned to their appointed accommodations to discuss their next move.
