Gathering with the Governor
On the forested world of Tython, you are meditating atop a large stone bridge, nearly 100 feet long and 5 individuals wide. It crosses in front of a large waterfall that forms the river in the valley below. Behind you sits the Tythos ridge a lush mountain range of squat and jagged mountains. Below lies a valley that stretches as far as you can see. The valley is a temperate rainforest with trees that tower above, the dense canopies help keep the ground cool. Your master, Knight Zesku Merrin jumps up to her feet. {Describe Merrin}
"Let's stretch our legs for a bit. How about we have a friendly duel? You can even have the day off tomorrow if you win." She says with a big smile. "You have been getting better, maybe we need to make it more of a challenge, I don't want to lose my win streak" she chuckles. She pulls out a specially crafted hood and tosses it in your direction.
Encounter 1
Lightsaber duel on a stone bridge. Blindfold inflects (3 Setback Dice can be negated by a successful Sense check. {If Mike wins, it ends in a draw. Win or lose, Zesku says,}"Looks like you have a busy day tomorrow," She laughs to herself. Before you have a chance to respond, Zesku's holo alerts, it's a message from the Council of Reconciliation asking her to come to their chamber for an assignment. You come to the Great courtyard full of statues of heroes and ancient masters, as well as dozens of students with their instructors. Behind stands the modest Temple complex, much more modern in design than many of the ruins that dot the Tython landscape. It is, however, clearly inspired by the Temples of old. Zesku leads you to the eastern side of the temple that holds the small council chambers. Inside is an unfamiliar round room with a ring of 5 chairs circled around the room. However, only 3 of the seats are currently occupied. You only recognize one of the individuals. Your master offers a slight bow and looks to you to do the same. To the farthest left is a younger Human man who offers a smug and dismissive nod toward you. The older woman beside the center offers a kind smile. And at the center sits Master Arsai Ra'am, a Togruta female. She appears to be in her late 40s and she commands a stern look toward the pair of you. You have heard a few stories growing up in the academy that she was awarded her position for her service during the Galactic War. Master Ra'am-
"We have a situation on Ord Mantell that requires your attention, Knight Merrin."Ketsu-
"What do you have for us Masters?"Ra'am-
"Ord Mantell is an important trade hub and gateway to Celanon Spur and the Entrolla Route. The Mantellian Government has been under the control of the Galactic Republic since we pushed back the Sith Empire. However, it also has a reputation as a shadowport, harboring some nefarious individuals; Pirates, gangsters, and their ilk. The officials there are also embroiled in corruption scandals and their latest one has given birth to a Separatist movement on the planet. So far there has been little more than protests and riots, but left unchecked we believe a full-scale revolution is likely. An Admiral Cal Braga was discovered to be partaking in the illegal trade on Ord Mantell, the extent of which is unknown to us. This information sparked protests in the Capital." Ra'am shifts uncomfortably in her seat. "Rumors began to swirl that the Governor Revel Brenn or her office may have also been involved. That turned the peaceful protests into full on riots, the Separtists have pushed the majority of the Repulic's forces offworld allowing only the RDC to remain. The Seperatist movement is calling for the immediate removal of the Governor and a full scale investigation into the government to uncover wrongdoing. We are sending you to help protect the Governor and to prevent further bloodshed."Zesku-
"Master, is the Republic launching an investigation?"Ra'am-
"The Governor is an important figure to the Republic, her family represents a lot of money to the Senate, plus her dedication to the trade routes and the spaceport keeps them happy. As for the Admiral, he is a decorated war hero. It is unlikely either of them will face any charges."Zesku-
"Master, if the Admiral tasked with protecting this planet and possibly the Governor are truly embroiled so deep in corruption that the people would revolt, then surely the Republic must at least investigate." Her fists clench as she speaks.Ra'am-
"We can offer a recommendation to the Republic, which we have done, however, the ultimate decision about how to handle the current leaders of Ord Mantell is not ours to make. Our place is to aid them in protecting the people and keeping the peace."Zesku-
Growing frustrated, "How can we expect the Mantillian people to have peace if we allow the same corrupt officials to rule over them? Are we no better than oppressors at that point? No better than Si--"Ra'am-
Interrupts Zesku, "Be mindful of your feelings, Zesku. You have your assignment and our judgment."Zesku-
"Yes Master," she offers a shallow bow and turns before you can do the same.Zesku walks purposefully to the spaceport.

Hesitantly, We appreciate the welcome Governor but I hope you understand this is not a social call, your world is on the brink of War. We would like a full accounting of events.Governor-
In a cheery tone, Of course, Master Jedi how about some Mantellian fire tea? It is superb. One of our finest luxury exports. Come, join me on the balcony.Fein escorts you all outside indicating seats for you both opposite the Governor as she remains standing. At the Lucky Lady: Gov is set up in a private both with her aide beside her aide, Fein beside her. The Governor greets you with a much more serious and somber tone. Governor-
Thank you for coming Master Jedi.Zesku-
Of course Gov. You mentioned you are being watched, do you know by who?Governor-
Shakes her head, No. But I am afraid.Fein-
We have suspicions that it could be some of Minister Jarrir Lor's people. He is spearheading the Separatist movement.Zesku-
Please, tell us everything.Governor-
It is true that Admiral Braga was selling weapons, supplies, and ships, all military owned, to the syndicates. I confronted him when I found out. He said he felt abandoned by the Republic. He was a war hero reduced to little more than a warden of our little planet. I encouraged him to step down from his post and submit to trial but he refused. I don't know what happened, he used to be so kind. Last we spoke, he was just so full of anger. When the people found out, protests began. Minister Lorr began calling for his removal and trial. And then the unthinkable happened. A story came out that my office was involved as well, indicating I sanctioned his actions and profited alongside him but it isn't true. I knew nothing! The Governor leans forward and lets out a big sigh, That's when I started to notice I was being watched. Little things here and there. I can't prove it but I think someone has orchestrated all of this. As soon as my supposed involvement came to light the people rioted. Braga was chased off-world with much of the Navy, I have not let them return because I fear it will spark a revolution. But Minister Lorr has begun speaking of secession, a complete overhaul of our government, and full separation from the Republic. I believe he may even be seeking allies to aid an independent Ord Mantell. Fortunately, he has been open to negotiations so I hope his intentions of peace are pure. I do not imagine the Republic will be wiWe are set to meet tomorrow at the Circle. I would like you both to be there.Later that evening you find yourself anxiously waiting in the welcoming chamber of the Circle along with your Master, the Governor, her aide, the Commander of the RDC, and several other government officials and their aides when suddenly a very nervous aide comes in almost sprinting. He shoots a nervous look at the Governor and says "Announcing Minister Lorr and... Clan Wren."
