Vehicle Combat

  1. Vehicles have a Will Defense that is used to defend against Hacking attempts from enemy vessels. A vehicle's will defense is determined by: 10 + Vehicle's Intelligence Modifier + 1/2 Hero Level of Co-Pilot.
  2. A ship's initiative is determined by its pilot. During that particular ship's turn in the round, the crew may determine their own action order that can be changed from round to round.
  3. A Vehicle's Armor adds to the Damage Resistance instead of Reflex Defense.

Ship Roles

Pilots

add their Pilot skill to a vehicle's Reflex Defense. Pilots control weapons with the [pilot] descriptor and weapons with the [payload] descriptor.

Co-Pilots

add 1/4 their Pilot skill to a vehicle's Reflex Defense. They also assist the Pilot with all piloting checks adding 1/4, rounded down, of their pilot's check result to the Pilot's roll as a bonus. Co-Pilots may also control ship weapons with the [pilot] or [payload] descriptor. If the Pilot rolls a natural 1 on any vehicle-related check the Co-Pilot may reroll the check. If the Co-Pilot rolls a natural 20 on any vehicle-related check that becomes the result.

Systems Operators

System Operators can use the Ship's computer systems to do any of the following during their turn:
  • Recharge Shields: Add the result of a Use the Computer check to your vehicle's shield.
  • Divert Power (DC 15 Use Computer check to add the Vehicle's Intelligence Modifier and Advantage (when applicable) to other onboard systems like Engine Controls, Weapon Systems, Shield Strength, or Will Defense {in the case of Will Defense the Vehicle's Int Mod is doubled})
  • Hack Enemy Systems, Systems Operators must make a Use Computer check (DC equals the targeted ship's Will Defense if successful they can do one of the following: Jam Communications, Scramble Onboard Systems {adds Disadvantage to the target's rolls}, Drop the ship -3 on its Condition Track, Lower Shields {this reduces the Shield rating by 10, you may spend a Force Point to lower it by 20}), or Lower System Threshold
  • Activate additional Onboard Systems like Tractor Beams, Specialty Shields, or a Network Defense Matrix.
