This 750-meter vessel was designed by the Corellian Engineering Corporation as a civilian heavy-duty cargo ship capable of withstanding all but the most well-armed pirate attack. The features of a stock Peregrine-class include overpowered engines, strong shields, and no less than 12 quad laser cannons for point defense.

Militarized versions of the vessel are currently being fielded by the Real Alliance in the capital ship role with the addition of 8 turbolasers to each broadside and the conversion of the upper cargo deck into expanded hangar and berthing space.
Typical tactics are almost fighter-like, and involve closing range on a target as quickly as possible to deliver a broadside in passing, angling the shields for maximum protection against that enemy as one closes, passes by, and then maneuvers for another pass.
