Republic Intelligence Services.

The Galactic Republic has 4 active intelligence branches, each with their own priorities.

• Republic Military Intelligence(RMI) is the intelligence branch of the Republic Armed forces.  As the only Republic Intelligence agency that is not a civilian organization, the RMI focuses on supporting the military.  It is widely regarded as the most aggressive security organization in the republic, with rumors indicating tha they are more confortable with sabotage, wetwork, and assasination than the other services
• The Republic Security Organization (RSO) is responsible for the overall safety and security of the institution of the Galactic Senate.  This includes primary responsibility for protecting the Chancellor, and recruiting and managing the Senate Guard.
• The Senate Bureau of Intelligence (SBI) is the primary civilian intelligence service for the Galactic Republic.  The SBI is tasked with providing the Galactic Senate with domestic and foreign intelligence for the broad mandate of promoting Republic security and prosperity.  The SBI charter forbids interference in domestic or foreign matters without the involvement of Galactic Law enforcement, or the Jedi Order.
• The Special Acquisitions Branch of the Library of the Republic has Senate sanctioned authority to both handle and acquire classified information.  Officially this is only to assist in their duties as the premier historical archive in the galaxy, but it is widely beleived to be a useful avenue for classified operations.
