Force point (FORss poynt)

May
The Force
be with you - always.

- Jedi Master Stass Allie,
Jedi Council

A Force point is a reflection of a character's relationship to The Force, the energy that binds all of existence together. Characters who choose heroic actions -- who act to save lives, to heal distress, to reduce suffering or protect the harmless; who exhibit courage in the face of personal risk as they work to make others' lives better -- become more closely connected to The Force. Their character sheets reflect this proximity in the form of a number of Force Points.

Use the Force

I am one with The Force and The Force is with me.

- Guardian Chirrut Îmwe

Any character currently participating in an Initiative round can spend one of their Force points to double all of their dice (but not the pips!) from the moment of expenditure until the end of the current round.
  • Do so for selfish, aggressive, malevolent, punitive, or fearful reasons:
      • That Force point is permanently destroyed. Delete from character sheet.
      • Add one Dark Side point to your current total.
      • Roll 1d6. If the resulting number is less than your new total of Dark Side points, you fall to the Dark Side! You have until the end of this scene to make amends for your evil, or your character becomes a nefarious plot device belonging to the Gamemaster.
  • Do so for self-centered, self-serving, but not harmful reasons:
      • That Force point is permanently destroyed. Delete from character sheet.
  • Do so for heroic reasons:
      • Remove the Force point from character sheet for now, but make a note on the bottom of the sheet with the reason why and the date of removal.
      • The GM plans to restore that Force point to your total at the end of the adventure, as you recover from your heroics and The Force sustains its connection to you.
  • Do so for heroic reasons in a particularly dramatic way, saving the day at a critical point in the story without expectation of benefit to yourself:
      • Remove the Force point from character sheet for now, but make a note on the bottom of the sheet with the reason why and the date of removal.
      • The GM plans to restore that Force point to your total at the end of the adventure, as you recover from your heroics and The Force sustains its connection to you.
      • The GM may also award you with a bonus Force point as your connection to the universe grows stronger!

    Upper Limits

There's no mystical energy field that controls my destiny.

    - Smuggler captain Han Solo

A character who is not Force Sensitive has a finite capacity to manipulate those energies. If an award of Force points would bring the character's total above five, all of those excess Force points instead transform into Character points.

In the Force, very different each one of you are.

Those who are Force Sensitive are not likely to find their upper limit in possible Force points before they become one with The Force.
