Form III: Soresu
GM Note: this and all other Tera Kasai forms are under review from a game mechanics point of view
After Darth Maul's defeat on Naboo, Obi-Wan Kenobi decided to enhance his defensive abilities by devoting himself as a practitioner of Form III, the most defensive of all of the forms, for an indefinite period of time. Qui-Gon Jinn's defeat made it apparent to Obi-Wan that the defenses of Form IV are insufficient, and with the Sith threat reborn, he would need to prepare for possible future encounters. Form III was developed to counteract the advancing blaster technology throughout the galaxy. Those to whom the Jedi were mainly opposed usually wielded blasters now; the Jedi needed to find a method to defend that could not be replicated or be counteracted by the Jedi's blaster-wielding enemies. Inspired by the need to parry blaster-fire, this form utilizes speedy twirls of the lightsaber to produce maximum protection by minimizing critical bodily target zones, while efficiently expending as little energy as possible to execute these moves. A well-trained practitioner often incorporates usage of the Force to increase his overall speed in his handling of a lightsaber, effectively making him, virtually, invincible. However, this doesn't necessarily mean that a Soresu master could overcome his enemy, a necessity of which is the inspiration behind the altered version of this form - Form V. Practitioners of Soresu comfortably remain on the defensive until their opponents make a mistake; only then do they strike offensively. Luminara Unduli and Barriss Offee are also proficient in this form. This form includes the following: Sense: Life Sense, Danger Sense, Receptive Telepathy Control: Concentraton Remain Conscious Remove Fatigue, Resist Stun, Absorb / Dissipate Energy Alter: Telekinesis Control and Sense: Lightsaber Combat, Projective Telepathy Control, Sense, and Alter: Affect Mind General Skills: Dexterity: Melee Combat ( Lightsaber ) Dexterity: Melee Parry ( Lightsaber ) Dexterity: Dodge Dexterity: Melee Feint ( similar to Parry. A successful roll allows a free chance at an attack as well as a parry against one opponent ) Physical Martial Skills (as described in the Star Wars SpecOps book): Punch Kick Disarm Shoulder Throw Spinning Kick Foot Sweep Known practitioners: Obi-Wan Kenobi, Luminara Unduli, Barriss Offee

+ Note that the above is in addition to the benefits from Lightsaber Combat and some bonuses can be applied for use without a lightsaber.
