MagTech Segmented Armor
MagTech armor is a set of sectioned armor that generates a low-powered defense screen near the skin layer of a user. This defense screen appears when the armor pieces detect a fast moving attack, such as a physical or energy strike, at the wearer. MagTech Segmented Armor is a low-cost design based on the restricted Vor shield belt technology, combined with the Multi-Frequency Targeting Acquisition System from Mark II, Republic Clone Armor.
The screen only deploys when the sensors detect a high velocity object or energy at the wearer. MagTech wrist bracers and leg greaves are often worn with blast vests and similar other types of armor, since they can work together. But MagTech's technology is not compatible with heavier armor that isn't a Blast Vest or equivalent.
Styles vary by species, but the typical MagTech Segmented Armor is a pair of wrist bracers and leg greaves. Both are leather and padded with an outer metal casing.

The armor's defense screen only deploys when the sensors detect a high velocity object or energy at the wearer. MagTech wrist bracers and leg greaves are often worn with blast vests and similar other types of armor, since they can work together. Here, the "vs physical" and "vs energy" are combined so that a character wearing MagTech armor with a blast vest has +2D vs physical damage, +1D+1 vs energy damage.
If a character wearing this armor takes damage, the armor's defense against that type of damage drops by 1 pip to a minimum of 0. It remains at 0 until the character can make a roll against "Armor Repair" or "Technical" against a Moderate difficulty.
