Danar’s Activities
Danar’s going to try to find out more about the circumstances of Ivan’s abduction, whether the princess is safe or abducted with him, details about his apparently impending marriage and any current intelligence the Tapani Imperium might have on Black Sun and The Hutts by reaching out to an old friend with both the connections and cleverness to get what he needs without calling attention to himself. In other words, Danar is going to surreptitiously contact Count Vorbocioni.

In the days after the discovery of the ancient chamber north of Port Etmar has been a blur. The damage done by Black Sun and the Hutts in their attacks using the Bloodsmith Raider Pirates and more was devastating.
Settlements have been battered, some to near ruin. The giant bio-mechanical insects left incredible damage in their wake. Reports showed that not even the Monorick mining colonies were left untouched.
Visiting the battlefields with Nalarine Kanter was eye-opening. The attack was an invasion attempt that nearly succeeded. Possibly an attempt to wipe out any life in the Freedworlds Republic. The wreckage and ruin drew out an involuntary shudder from you from simply thinking about it.
The stack of flimsies and reports loomed at the edge of your attention. But you set those aside. You needed to distract yourself from the tours. Chancellor Kanter agreed to give a speech. Something to be a reply to the attacks. You had no idea what, but there was someone working on a speech now for her.
She still won’t accept an escort, even after everything that’s happened. But you take some relief that she keeps the shield belt on her at all times. There was that.
You go to a nearby console and enter in the codes for a secure, encrypted channel. Details about back home… your supposed marriage and more seemed to be the right balm to soothe your mind. Besides, they might have something on Black Sun and the Hutts?
The message is short and to the point. You need information, but you need it quietly gathered. Best not to draw attention. There was enough of that going around already.
When done, you transmit it to Count Vorboccioni. You know, if there was anyone that could find out what was going on, he could.
Time flies between the blur of flimsies, troop training, scheduling and battle plans dealing with the never-ending problems of Black Sun and the Hutts. But a message returns from Vorboccioni.
Danar, it’s good to hear from you. I’m sure you’ve enjoyed missing the skullduggery that is Vor life here in Tapani with all that subterfuge. But I understand time is of the essence, so I’ll get to the point.
Your impending marriage. It came as a shock to most everyone when that was announced. I couldn’t help but do some digging. It seems your family has had more than one surprise debts called in on them. Your family’s holdings are now fragile which has pushed your father into brokering this arrangement against his better wishes. It was at the suggestion of Count Vormecetti. I’m not sure what game Bodé is playing, but my sources suggest there is some unfinished business Bodé is looking to settle.
Though he may not be alone as he has a silent business partner that I’ve not been able to uncover. Yet. I may enlist Miles, Count Vorharkonen, or both on this.
On Ivan. That’s a sticky subject. Ivan as the secret consort of Our Lady Katianna is already complicated as you well know. But Ivan, much like Miles, trips over such complications with ease. What I have is that the Princess is safe. Angry. But safe. The Beskar Aran are working with her personal retinue to watch her, which has taken a lot of Beskar Aran’s attention.
Which brings up the interesting part… it is taking a lot of the Beskar Aran’s attention. A lot. I’m starting to be concerned it may distract them from the Emperor’s impending trip to visit and meet the Lady Nalarine and ‘General Vance Kerplokin’.
By the way! Congratulations on the Generalship! I’ll throw you a private celebration when you’re back.
But, if this is a distraction, I would suspect Ivan is important and must be kept alive and well. Otherwise, the Princess will unleash hell which frees the Beskar Aran to other contracts and duties. My sources suggest this is the case. Information keeps trickling in from various locations. Ivan may be kept on your back door step as it were. Look close.
Black Sun and the Hutts. Danar, when are they not up to something? My sources say that the loss of Chalcedon has interrupted several business lines. The obvious is the slave trade. My sources suggest that some of the slaves were being funneled off to at least two secondary projects in the Chalcedon system.
But. There was some sort of ‘new product’ being processed where you are. One that Black Sun had enlisted Hutt resources to set up processing for. With Chalcedon System on its own, Black Sun and the Hutt clans … those dealing with Black Sun … are desperate to get back. The processing supposedly required power, like solar or geothermal.
