Darvassa Matsula
Darvassa Matsula was a Twi'lek criminal. Despite being born on Ryloth, Darvassa's childhood was spent across the spacelanes, growing up as part of a small priate band who were wiped out some time before 22BBY. Knowing only a life of crime and villainy, Darvassa continued to steal and kill for a living, earning a reputation for gruesome bladework in particular.
Eventually, the law caught up with Darvassa and she was imprisoned on Wobani, where she became the cellmate of Gyla Feranis. An unlikely friendship formed, with Gyla using her force abilities to tap into some of the trauma Darvassa had experienced from years of violence and abuse, and provide a counseling ear for the troubled Twi'lek.
Coruscant Calling:
Darvassa assisted in the escape from Wobani and was present on Raxus. When the crew arrived on Coruscant and were rewarded by Supreme Chancellor Palpatine for their assistance extracting Osianasa Danaxa, Darvassa chose an illegal disruptor rifle as her reward and began to use it to disintegrate her enemies.
However, Darvassa's time with the Two Moon's Crew was cut short, as they departed quickly from Coruscant for Trask, leaving her behind to watch over the apartment the military had provided them as contractors.
Interim:
Darvassa did not take to life in the boring apartment building and quickly set off to the undercity, after exploring and coming to find that the lower levels were the perfect playground for someone with her skillset and now resources, she began to build a small gang of muscle-for-hire types that operated close to Level 13-13's Brightlight Row.
Over the course of six months, Darvassa's gang grew stronger, but eventually they drew the heat of the self-styled 'Governor' of the Coruscant Underworld. The Governor's Gang ran a host of nefarious operations in the undercity, from spice trading to the smuggling of illegal slaves. After a dispute, the Governor's Gang declared war on the Disruptors and began to hunt them down. The Governor put a sizable bounty on Darvassa, which drew the attention of many bounty hunters and brokers such as Manavan.
The City Beneath the City:
Having been driven into hiding, Darvassa and the Disruptors grew desperate, and began launching strikes on the businesses who paid protection money to the Governor in order to try to acculumate more capital to fight the gang war.
The Disruptors attempted a casino heist against the New Sapiarch Hotel, the new venture of Cesei Morin, only to be thwarted by the timely intervention of Brii Asprorkit who sealed the would-be robbers, including Darvassa's top lieutenant and paramour Jak-Rana Erudi, in the casino's vault just as the Governor's forces arrived to assert control.
Hunters in the Dark:
With her gang leadership shattered, Darvassa began to panic and make mistakes - inadvertantly revealing the location of the abandonned housing unit the Disruptors used as a HQ. A host of bounty hunters arrived to claim the bounty, killing her last remaning followers before she managed to seal the building. Taking up a sniper position with her disruptor rifle, Darvassa held out for over nine hours, funneling hunters into a kill-zone as they tried to cross the bridge to the building.
Having heard about this from Manavan, Pokk Uvesh led the Two Moon's Crew to join the hunters, consisting of Bossk, Asmea Dah, Tendurin Dyjik and Dengar among others. The crew convinced Tendurin Dyjrik to let them repair and make use of his gunship, using it to fly to the upper levels of the building and proceed down to Darvassa. Darvassa took several shots at the crew on the way, mistaking them for more hunters, but was ultimately relieved to be reunited with them.
Unfortunately HK-80's programming refused to allow it to do anything other than take Darvassa in, and the droid opened fire on the crew after they agreed to help Darvassa escape. Pokk and Brii unleashed several explosives upon the droid, burying it in rubble before departing aboard the gunship after a small firefight. The crew narrowly escaped as the other hunters set their sights on them and closed in.
My Favourite Hunter in the Core:
Afterwards, Manavan privately congratulated Pokk, believing that he had stolen Darvassa out from the other hunters in order for the two to split a greater share of the reward themselves. This came as a surprise to Uvesh, who believed that his actions helping Darvassa had compromised his oath as a hunter.
Darvassa agreed to keep a low profile, hiding out at Axelyn Tower, provided that in return the crew take out the Governor and rescue Jak-Rana Erudi from his dungeons. She explained that he was the source of so much of the evil in Coruscant's undercity, and that she needed him gone to ever be safe again. The crew reluctantly agreed - joining the Governor's Maze podrace with Dorian Cahn's racers and a few others they sourced separately.
The Battle of Coruscant:
During the invasion of the capital by CIS forces, Darvassa was tasked to join Sergeant Paints in leading a strike team to help defend the Federal Prison. Darvassa was given a secondary objective to help break Cryo and several members of her gang out of captivity while she was there which the Twi'lek performed admirably.
After the battle, her and Jak-Rana Erudi joined the Two Moon's Crew for their journey to Kashyyyk and Wasskah.
The Great Hunt:
Darvassa and Jak-Rana Erudi were both taken captive by Trandoshan slavers alongside Rear-Admiral Kalik and Nial Antilles after the Defiance was forced to make an emergency landing on Kashyyyk. They were taken to Wasskah where they were made to fight in a combat arena for the amusement of Trandoshan Warlord Nexor Vhrrk.
The Battle of Wasskah:
They subsequently escaped as Tahm Tahm, a fellow prisoner, launched an insurrection against their captors at the behest of Nial Antilles. During their escape, the Two Moon's Crew arrived with a Republic taskforce under the joint command of Tesef Sereyne and Jioran Gali, with the objective of invading Wasskah and returning the captives to the Defiance.
Good Soldiers Follow Orders:
Darvassa was present aboard the Defiance when clone forces executed Order 66 and opened fire on Gyla, Tesef and their non-Jedi allies. Along with Jak-Rana Erudi and Nial Antilles, she was taken hostage by Clone Sergeant Tricky and held captive in the Medbay of the Defiance as the Two Moon's Crew wrecked havoc among the depleted clone garrison on board the warship. When the crew eventually arrived to storm the medbay, Tricky shot Jak-Rana in the head, eliciting a furious bloodlust in Darvassa, who proceeded to bludgeon the clone to death with her bare hands for the loss of her beloved.
Wedding Interrupted:
Recognising that they needed to keep a low profile in the wake of the Empire's rise, Darvassa would spend the bulk of the next year with Petrera and the Jedi-in-hiding on Alderaan. She found the world boring but did not object to the peace and relative quiet it brought, finding herself rested for the first time in her life.
This rest was interrupted with the arrival of the Imperial Governor, Jierdus Ulgo, and COMPNOR Director Saex Aradan who arrived with warrants to arrest several members of the crew on various anti-imperial charges. During the high-tension chaos the Imperial arrival caused, Darvassa was tasked with tracking the prisoners being dragged off, and stayed faithful to this assignment even after Petrera and then the rest of the crew took off for the Outer Rim.
Darvassa snuck aboard the prisoner transport and went all the way to Wobani, where she had once been incarcerated, before returning to Alderaan to inform Nad Vien of the prisoners' final destination.
Perspectives:
Nad along with Sergeant Naklash and then Nial and Amala Antilles (when they themselves returned from Canto Bight) then planned a daring prison break, which Darvassa, Naklash and Nad then carried out - freeing Guligol and several other political prisoners from the facility. Unfortunately Senator Gideon Danu and Zasarlil Uvesh were no longer present at the facility to be rescued when the time came.
During the prison-break, Darvassa would note how much worse the facility was being run after the Empire's rise to power, the quantity of children and innocents imprisoned and the general aura of despair within the facility.
The Battle of Mount Oros:
Some time after the prison-break, Darvassa, Nad, Naklash and Guligol attempted to link up with the Two Moon's Crew on Oba Diah, only to find no sign of them and the place crawling with angry Pykes and Imperial intelligence agents.
The group crossed paths with Pokk Uvesh briefly before catching word of disturbances caused by Petrera and Tesef on Belasco and Corellia respectively and made their way towards the core once again.
While en route, Pokk contacted them and told them to head to Scipio, where the Empire believed it had cornered the crime lord Oros, and where the Two Moon's Crew would no doubts be heading themselves, walking into a trap. The group set their course, arriving as a full blown battle was getting underway both in the skies and on the surface of Scipio.
Never much of a skilled pilot, Darvassa accidentally crashed her ship into the mountaintop before the group rushed out, blasters in hand to join their friends in battle with Imperial forces. They covered the retreat into the Temple of Oros, with Darvassa disintegrating several Stormtroopers as the doors closed behind them.
Darvassa then escaped with the others who fled the mountain, deciding to make a life for herself as a professional prison-break-artist. Her reputation proceeds her in the galactic underworld and she is now considered to be one of the best in the business.
