Obi-Wan Kenobi
Overview:
Obi-Wan Kenobi, also known as Ben Kenobi, was a legendary Force-sensitive human male Jedi Master who served on the Jedi High Council during the final years of the Republic Era. As a Jedi General, Kenobi served in the Grand Army of the Republic that fought against the Separatist Droid Army during the Clone Wars. Kenobi, however, was forced into exile as a result of the Great Jedi Purge.
Kenobi was born on the planet Stewjon in 57 BBY. He was Force-sensitive, and therefore inducted into the Jedi Order as a child. Raised in the Jedi Temple on the planet Coruscant, Kenobi was assigned to Jedi Master Qui-Gon Jinn. In 32 BBY, Kenobi attained the rank of Jedi Knight by defeating the Sith Lord Darth Maul during the Invasion of Naboo. He also chose to train Anakin Skywalker—the prophesied Chosen One who was destined to destroy the Sith and restore balance to the Force—having promised Jinn who died in the lightsaber duel against Maul.
With the advent of the Clone Wars in 22 BBY, Kenobi adopted the military rank of High Jedi General in the Grand Army of the Galactic Republic, and was given command of the Open Circle Fleet, the Third Systems Army, and the 7th Sky Corps. Clone Marshal Commander CC-2224 "Cody" served as his second-in-command throughout the galaxy-wide conflict, with their forces achieving multiple victories over the Confederacy of Independent Systems.
In the midst of the war, his old enemy Maul re-emerged into galactic affairs, bent on revenge against Kenobi for his debilitating defeat decades prior. Though they clashed in heated duels on multiple occasions, Maul failed to end Kenobi's life or cripple his spirit, despite murdering his former love, Satine Kryze, Duchess of Mandalore.
War on Wobani:
At some point during the third year of the Clone Wards, Kenobi and Skywalker participated in the liberation of Wobani from Separatist forces, interrupting an ongoing prison break led by Hondo Ohnaka. After the death of Commandant Jafek and discovering missing Padawan Gyla Feranis among the prisoners, Kenobi instructed Gyla to return to the Temple on Coruscant as soon as she could, and granted Gyla and her companions who had helped to defeat Jafek, the use of his modified YT-1300 variant freighter to leave in. Kenobi lightly flirted with Petrera, teasing her about the potential frustrations of being incarcerated for so long in a women's prison.
Coruscant Calling:
Obi-Wan Kenobi attended the Jedi Council Meeting witnessed by Petrera, in which Gyla Feranis was elevated to the rank of Jedi Knight. He spoke highly of the skill and mental fortitude it must have taken for the padawan to survive in a Separatist prison and advocated positively for the role she and her friends had played in the liberation of Wobani. Kenobi was the first Jedi Master to congratulate Gyla upon her elevation.
Missing Man:
Kenobi, alongside Mace Windu and Senator Bail Organa would reach out to Gyla and her companions aboard the Two Moon's Dance when Representative Bail Antilles of Alderaan went missing over Naboo. Kenobi and Windu felt that Gyla's meeting with Antilles at the Mon Calamari Opera and her involvement with known-associate Petrera would make her a good candidate to lead the investigation.
Calling All Allies:
After discovering that Bail Antilles had been kidnapped by the Grof Gang and learning that the criminal underworld was coming together to take action against the Grofs, Gyla joined the growing force assembling on Rugosa, there she contacted Coruscant. Kenobi took the call - advising Gyla to be careful of the Shadow Collective's leader, Maul, hinting strongly to Gyla about the loss of Satine Kryze and how it had affected him. Kenobi then relayed to Gyla that her old master, Oppo Rancisis was en route to assist with his new padawan Skyron Enada.
Sequel to Scipio:
Some time prior to the end of the war, Kenobi again spoke privately with Gyla, confiding in her that Anakin was missing his old Padawan Ahsoka and invting Gyla to join himself and Anakin for the Anaxes campaign, a position Gyla declined, hoping to stay close to Ali Santora on Corsucant.
The Battle of Coruscant:
During the invasion of the capital, Kenobi and Skywalker were present via hologram at a briefing attended by the Admirals tasked with Coruscant's defence, alongside several Jedi leaders including Gyla Feranis and Commander Tesef Sereyne. Orders were given for the fleet to buy time as Kenobi and Skywalker quickly made their way back to Coruscant to rescue the kidnapped Chancellor.
The two Jedi fought their way through Admiral Arondha's Separatist blockade and managed to board the Invisible Hand, only to find the Chancellor being held prisoner at the top of the ship's observation spire. Not long after they arrived to the room, Count Dooku appeared before them and the two Jedi engaged him in a duel. Though Dooku managed to gain the upper hand and knocked Kenobi out cold, Skywalker was able to defeat the Sith Lord, and subsequently executed him at Palpatine's urging.
The First Galactic Empire:
In 19 BBY, Kenobi killed Supreme Martial Commander of the Separatist Droid Armies General Grievous during the Battle of Utapau, effectively ending the Clone Wars. He later survived the initial onslaught of the Great Jedi Purge against the Jedi Order, which resulted from the machinations of the Sith Lord Darth Sidious.
Shortly thereafter, with help from Senator Bail Organa and Yoda, Kenobi returned to the Jedi Temple on Coruscant, altering the message calling all Jedi back to the temple to a heartfelt holographic message of himself, warning any of the surviving Jedi to stay away from the Temple and the planet, persevere for the future and to trust in the Force. This message reached the Star Destroyer Defiance over Wasskah and was recieved by Gyla Feranis and Tesef Sereyne after they survived Order 66.
After discovering that Anakin had turned to the dark side of the Force, becoming Sidious' Sith apprentice under the name of Darth Vader, Kenobi defeated his former Padawan on Mustafar and exiled himself to the Outer Rim planet Tatooine as the Galactic Empire rose to power.
