The Legend of The Slivers
"The Zerg from Starcraft look nerfed compared to these guys. Even The Wraith would fall to them." -- Rodney McKay
The legend of Slivers dates back to when the Ancients had first sent seedships to Nyxian Galaxy, the cosmic energy of the worlds lead to a mutation of slugs that clung to other evolving lifeforms on the planets and assimilated. These first generation of Slivers were mostly Queens, Legions, and Overlords. Each Queen used the Stargates to seek out new worlds for themselves in the galaxy and start their own hives. as the other races developed they constantly battled the Slivers for many generations for their own survival after a few million years of wars. A warlord who had been searching for a means to control and command the Slivers developed the Hivestone to do just that. His final action in life was to set all the Hivestones (One for each world.) to command the Slivers to hibernate. This warlord passed on his knowledge of how the stones operate to his genetic heirs, so they could command the Slivers should the need ever arise again. When all the non-humanoid Slivers went into hibernation the had reverted back into the egg/sac hatchling stage of their life cycles. The Humanoid Slivers or "Prime" Slivers transformed themselves into other humanoid races, but genetically were still Slivers, so their offspring would still be as them at heart. Once a Hivestone was broken or commanded
