Planetary Housing System
Planetary Housing System is the idea of interconnected buildings that make up a larger structure. As a result, this makes several builds act as one and when applied on a planetary level, can improve the infrastructure of the planet. Designed by the Tasinaras , it has spread across the stars as the core principle of urban city design.
Most older buildings are redesigned to fit the system. Typically, A central building is chosen to act as a hub between the other nodes. It mostly house commercial zones as well as industrial sectors where the people from the nodes go to work and spend their leisure activities. From the central hub, nodes are chosen around it to act as residential buildings. They are filled with apartments of various levels of quality along with amenities for the people such as hospitals and law enforcement. Each hub has about 3 to 4 nodes then to connected each hub, their sub nodes connect between each other for short distance transportation. For long distance, the hubs are connected via a monorail. As a result, the system is tiered making the distribution of resources easier to accomplish.
Purpose / Function
Old skyscrapers were the standard for a long time, but as they rose higher, a new system needed to be created. The Skyworks Project was created to resolve the issue. The Tasinara found that creating buildings that work as one unit are more efficient. The project was fully completed just after the reorganization of the government. For certain planets that have tourism, hubs and nodes would be considered resorts dedicated directly for the use of tourists only.
