The Constructs

The Constructs are synthetic lifeforms that were constructed by a dead and ancient civilization. While biologists would say they are not living creatures, while some AI specialists would say otherwise. Whatever side you choose, they have life like qualities which gives them the imitation of actual creatures. Their purpose within the galaxy is unknown, but each type has their own function. They live harmony with the natural processes of the galaxy and act as custodians. While they may seem very docile, they are the most advanced technology we have seen and upsetting them is not an undertaking many would dare make.

Original Types

These were created by a long dead civilization from a time long since forgotten. They live on and carry out whatever their original creators programmed. The Constructs rely on themselves to continue functioning and have no system of government or known origin. Leviathans: These are massive creatures that reside both within space and on planets. Their methods vary, but their goals remain the same, to terraform planets into Golden Worlds. They may act as guardians over precious resources, gathers of the proper gases, or the direct transformers of the planet. We identify them by their size and processes they are working on. Typically, their structure is that of an Earth Whale, Libertiza Worm, or Fera Vibera. Monitors: These are the approximately the size of a fruit such as a belan, vilsopa, or apple. They act as observers monitoring the progress of advanced and primitive cultures before sending the Workers to resolve an issue. For example, massive drought caused by advance civilizations might receive unexpected aid if the observers deem it worthy. They are also the only ones to be able to directly communicate with sapien organics. With a lexicon of languages at it's disposable, they can speak any language. Typically their structure is that of an Earth Robin, Ryannona Wisp, or Fera Wliff. Workers: The backbone of the entire system on the Constructs. They are the most common form with 85% of constructs being this specific type. Workers do the heavy work with altering terrain, protecting ecosystems, defending rare lifeforms, destroying entire colonies, etc. When Construct actively is high in the region, it's due to these Workers working on their designated task. With their assigned tasks, a Monitor is not far behind and will coordinate them in their work. Without a leader they will become disorganized and act independently to progress their goal. Typically, their structure is that of an Earth Canine, Nunbara Lezaba , or Libertiza Korimik.

Genetics and Reproduction

While they do not reproduce in the same sense as organics, they do actively collect raw materials to produce more of their design. When this process is undertaken, we believe a copy is made between the builder along with changes in this code to adapt. Logs have been record showing this learning process between generations.

Ecology and Habitats

Due to their variety of shapes and sizes, they can live in any environment. Their extremophile nature lends well to the vacuum of space and can transverse any environment. Depending on the job their type performs determines where they reside.

Perception and Sensory Capabilities

Their perceptive capabilities are not while understood but are extremely sensitive. Scientists have noted their ability to see the full electromagnetic spectrum and their interconnected ability to share information with other members. While this may appear to have a hivemind mentality, they work as individuals and not as a collective. This communication is no different than talking over a communicator.
