Aster

The Aster is a species of unbelievably large rock leviathans that roam the skies and shoot down anything that enters their turf with laser beams; this makes setting up satellites difficult (read: impossible), as any that are sent up almost immediately fall back down, broken.
Starlons have overcome this by using Hard Light Etherea users to bend radio waves in an arc from tower to tower. This does allow for internet, but it's about ten times slower than it is on Earth.
Hypothetically, Asters respect anyone who can give them a good fight, and will let them travel the skies as they please.  However, thanks to their raw power, very few have been able to prove this.
Even Zoris tends to keep his distance from them.
