Embird
The Embird is a giant bird that's always on fire. They can reach 6 feet or more from beak to tail, and are considered an apex predator on Starlo.
They can fly at over to 110 mph (177 kmph) and shoot deadly fireballs that cause explosions on impact and fry pretty much anything in the vicinity, pre-cooking their food in the process.
As being perpetually on fire is energy-consuming, Embirds are often on the hunt, looking for prey to eat for dinner. As they are so fast, it's nearly impossible to run away, and with their incredibly good eyes, they will see their soon-to-be victims from the sky. Their fireballs are even faster than they are, and if they do not hit directly, the explosions will still stun and disorient their prey, making it easy to hit them with the next fireball.
While pretty much every creature requires at least three hits to kill, Embirds can shoot their fireballs very quickly, essentially comboing their prey to death. Which is arguably a worse fate than just dying immediately.
While Embirds naturally use their powers for hunting food, there are signs that they also kill for fun. They regularly set forests on fire for seemingly no reason, for example. They will also sometimes just not go for the kill, leaving their victims alive, but stunned, burned, and traumatized from the experience. Because Embirds are jerks and actively enjoy the suffering of others.
Many Starlons have died to and have been eaten by Embirds, so naturally Starlons are kind of nervous around them. Indeed, there are few species on Starlo willing to confront them, giving them the title of apex predator.
