Keystones

Significance

They keystones are large jewel-like stones that were used by the taishora in the terraforming of the Auri'll'ye Hiilshadaar. Technically, there are only 6 of these stones, but the ones created by the taishora link together with preexisting sacred stones on Nomaie and Kinshei to make a set of 8.

Each Keystone is kept in a sacred location known only to the planet's current ruler. It has a caretaker who dedicates his or her life to protecting it. This caretaker is always a sehashi.
There's a belief that if one holds all of the Keystones one can control the Auri'll'ye Hiilshadaar. This is only partially correct. One would also need to be in possession of both the Raazuiye and the Hursinahurak in order to do anything with them. It is also helpful--though not entirely necessary--to have the crystallized power of the four guardians -- to give you the power needed to use these artifacts.
The vast majority of the Auri'll'ye Hiilshadaar believe the Keystones to be all-powerful after all. Only the reigning queens and the caretakers know the full truth.
