Energy Ray

Discipline: Psychokinesis; Level: Psion 1   Manifesting Time: 1 standard action   Range: Close (25 ft. + 5 ft./2 levels)   Target: One creature or object   Duration: Instantaneous   Saving Throw: None; Power Resistance: yes   Psi Points: 1   You concentrate energies in the environment into a ray of destructive power. Choose an energy type (acid, cold, electricity, fire, or sonic) when manifesting this power. This power’s subtype is the same as the energy type you manifest. The ray deals 1d6 damage of the chosen type if you succeed at a ranged attack against the target’s EAC, and has an additional effect depending on which is chosen.
  • Acid: A ray of this type deals 1 damage per die to the target at the beginning of your next turn. The target also takes a -2 penalty to KAC for one round.
  • Cold: A ray of this energy type deals +1 damage per die and gains the Staggered critical effect
  • Electricity: Manifesting a ray of this energy type provides a +3 bonus on your attack roll if the target is wearing metal armor or is significantly made of metal, and a +2 bonus on manifester level checks for the purpose of overcoming Power Resistance.
  • Fire: A ray of this energy type deals +1 damage per die and gains the Burn critical hit effect
  • Sonic: A ray of this energy type ignores an object’s hardness
Augment: You can augment this power in any of the following ways:
  1. For every additional psi point you spend, the ray deals an additional 1d6 damage
  2. If you spend 4 additional psi points, you may have this power deal Force damage.
  3. If you expend your Psionic Focus, the range of this power becomes Medium (100 ft. +10 ft./level)
