Energy Wall

Discipline: Psychokinesis; Level: Psion 2   Manifesting Time: 1 standard action   Range: Medium (100 ft. +10 ft/level)   Effect: Opaque energy sheet up to 20ft./level long, or opaque energy ring radius up to 5ft./2 levels, 20ft. high.   Duration: Concentration plus 1 round/2 levels   Saving Throw: Reflex half or Fortitude half, see text; Power Resistance: no   Psi Points: 1   You create a sheet of energy, anchored and stationary. When you manifest this power, choose an energy type (acid, cold, electricity, fire, or sonic). This power’s subtype is the same as the energy type you manifest. One side of the wall (your choice) radiates energy at the end of each of your turns, dealing 2d6 damage of that type of energy to creatures and objects within 10 feet and 1d6 damage to creatures and objects greater than ten but less than 20 feet away. A ring can radiate damage either in or out, your choice. Creatures passing through the wall take 2d6 damage plus your manifester level immediately. If you manifest the wall occupying a space that a creature is already in, they take damage as though passing through the wall. Creatures may make a save any time they take damage from this wall to reduce it by half. In addition, each energy type has a unique effect.
  • Acid: Fortitude save. Creatures failing their save against this damage reduce their AC by 4 for one minute (this does not stack).
  • Cold: Fortitude save. Creatures failing their save reduce their movement speeds by 10 ft (minimum 0) for one minute.
  • Electricity: Reflex save. Armor worn by creatures who fail their saves shorts out, losing all environmental protections for one minute.
  • Fire: Reflex save. All damage dealt by this wall is increased by one per two manifester levels.
  • Sonic: Fortitude save. Ignores the hardness of objects, and creatures failing their save are deafened for one minute.
Augment: You can augment this power in any of the following ways:
  1. For every 2 additional psi points you spend, increase the damage dealt by touching the wall and being within 10 ft. by 1d6. Every two times this is taken, increase the damage by being between 10 and 20 ft. by 1d6.
  2. If you expend your Psionic Focus, you may manifest this power as a Reaction. When used this way, you cannot concentrate on maintaining this power.
