Bahamut, The Paragon
In the vast, sprawling pantheon of deities, Bahamut stands as the King of Dragons, a being of immense power and authority. He exists in direct opposition to Tiamat, the Tyrant Mother, and their eternal conflict has raged on since before the creation of Statera.
Bahamut is a Primordial God, a being that existed before the very creation of the world. In the story of creation, he is said to have carried the world from the center of the Sun to a place where it could cool, giving life a chance to take root in Statera. Some legends suggest that he granted the first humans the gift of magic as they swore fealty to his rule of Order.
Described as epically long with a wingspan greater than the Zodaskhan Deserts, Bahamut is said to be a Silver Dragon, although some legends suggest he is a Gold Dragon. His eyes are always drawn as a Silver Blue lights that pierce the unworthy darkness, and his mere presence exudes an aura of awe and reverence.
Bahamut is the Leader of the Pantheons of Order and White, and he is the Lord of Oaths. Any Paladin, regardless of alignment and intention, makes their oaths to Bahamut as well as their actual Patron. His followers are a small but dedicated group, and his temples can be found in many cities and towns throughout the land.
While Bahamut is one of the most powerful deities, he rarely interferes in the affairs of the mortal world. Many say that if Bahamut is real, he has gone elsewhere. His order claims that Bahamut is on the far side of the world, turning the world. But when he does involve himself in mortal affairs, it is with great purpose and precision.
Members of the Black Pantheon exist in opposition to Bahamut, and members of the Pantheon of Chaos cannot understand him. They collectively seek to kill him and overwhelm the White Pantheon, but Bahamut is a being of immense strength and wisdom. He has fought a number of times with his Divine counterparts, and while he could easily defeat his darker brethren, he will not use any underhanded or subversive methods. This conflict is effectively deadlocked, as Bahamut refuses to engage in the same type of tactics that his enemies use.
Bahamut's teachings are centered around order and justice, and his followers strive to uphold these ideals wherever they go. They are champions of the oppressed and defenders of the weak, and they live their lives in service to the greater good. Bahamut's word is law, and his followers are sworn to uphold his tenets with honor and integrity.
