Desert Desperation Session#4

General Summary

As the party receives a message from Amelia, they experience a surge of magical energy from the depths below. Waldeyr nearly triggered by the surge, but quickly recovers. The bandit and Fuzzles momentarily escape during the tremor. Fuzzles manages to open the mithril chest the party previously recovered as a gesture of good will toward the party. The party receives a few items inside the chest.
After looting the chest, Waldeyr hears a mysterious whispering. Believing it came from the chest, he creeps closer and touches it to discover that the chest morphed into a Purple Greataxe. Waldeyr is forcefully attuned to the axe, but the party presses on.
Seymour splits from the party during the looting to investigate the barrier. After a few tests , he manages to break the barrier open. The tunnel discovered dives farther into the earth that Seymour can see. Worried about his party, however, he leaves exploring for later and exits the cave. He receives a vision, where he speaks with Lily, the War Dominus of his order, who gives him a divine task from Rumpus.
Outside, the party discover an attacking band of Hobgoblins and Darklings. Waldeyr recognizes that they serve the Autumn Fey Court. After a messy fight, partly fueled by Wild Magic, the party slays all but two hobgoblins who flee. Waldeyr, however, is overcome by an unseen force and attacks Godric before Seymour douses him with water and shake him out of his bloodlust.
Amelia and Shung survive the fight, but Malachi was killed before the party arrived. The party manages to salvage two Camels and Carts from the encounter. Amelia reveals to the party that Malachi was actually a captain in a rebel organization, but suggest that the party ask Breubek for more information upon return to Ur Zawr.
The mining site of Ur Paneel, however, was set ablaze by Sharg before he fled. The party still has supplies enough for another week along with unlimited water from Father Seymour's magic. They decides to make camp for the night at the entrance to the cave before they explore what was behind the destroyed barrier. Father Seymour confronts Waldeyr about the missive received from Lily, the War Dominus, and reassures Waldeyr that he will fight alongside him.
They have a mostly quiet night, but on Leo's watch something happens....
