Melia el-Mady (Mel-ee-uh El Mah-dee)
Background
Melia el-Mady was born in the bustling city of Selesta, the capital of the Zodaskhan Empire. As the daughter of a high-ranking clan leader, she was expected to follow in her family's footsteps and adhere to the strict laws and traditions of the empire. However, Melia had always been a rebellious spirit and had little patience for the rigid social hierarchy and strict expectations of Zodaskhan society. At the age of twenty, Melia left her privileged life in the city and journeyed to the Northlands, a wild and untamed region inhabited by monsters and other dangers. She was drawn to the freedom and independence that the Northlands offered, and was determined to make a life for herself there.
Melia quickly proved herself to be a skilled huntress and a fierce warrior, using her extensive training in the art of the sword to protect herself and the small town where she settled. She quickly gained a reputation as a lone wolf and a weapon's master, and was often sought out by those in need of her expertise.
As she grew older and more experienced, Melia became more of an anti-hero, believing that the ends justify the means and that each person is responsible for their own strength in order to survive. Despite her cold exterior, Melia is not lacking in empathy and will go out of her way to help those in need, especially those who are weaker than herself.
In addition to her work as a huntress, Melia also founded the Ur Zawr Library, a place where she could share her knowledge and experience with others. The library doubles as a schoolhouse, and Melia takes great pride in teaching and mentoring the young people of the town. She is a wise and respected figure in the community, and is often sought out for her counsel and advice.
Despite her many accomplishments and the accolades that have been bestowed upon her, Melia remains an atheist and has little patience for those who rely on superstition or religion for guidance. She was offered a 'Min Hadha Futuwan', a prestigious honor given to those who have served beyond themselves. Melia's had slain two blue dragons during the defense of the town of Urlak Hallahn from an incursion of the beasts. However, Melia rejected the accolade, believing that it was her duty to protect her community and that she should not be rewarded for doing what was right.
Now in her middle age, Melia is the leader of a monster hunting organization known as the "qatl alwuhush watahsin alnufus", or "Qatal-Wataaln" for short. She is often called upon by those seeking to rid the land of dangerous creatures. Despite her chaotic good nature and tendency towards independence, Melia has a soft spot for those she considers to be under her protection and will go to great lengths to keep them safe. She is a mother figure to many in the town, and her strength and wisdom are greatly respected and admired by all who know her.
