The Chronos Ruby

The Chronos Ruby is a pear-shaped 10 carat ruby which gives the holder the power to speed up time for specific people and items. It is known for its deep violet-red coloring.

History

The Chronos Ruby was found in India in 1847 by an explorer named Dena Welter, who had a power that allowed her to locate gemstones. Welter sold the ruby to a wealthy Englishman, Monroe Godkim, who had it put in a ring for his wife, Helene. While in Helene's possession, the ruby developed the ability to speed up time. The Godkims died in an airship crash in 1852, and the ruby was left to Mrs. Godkim's sister, Anne McKay. McKay was the one who used the ruby's power. However, by 1855, Anne was in dire financial straits, and sold the ruby to a jewel collector, Earl Gregory.   Gregory kept the Chronos Ruby in his collection, avoiding using it. When he died in October of 1891, his son Chester took possession of it. In the beginning of 1892, a wealthy businessman, Clayton Whitehead, purchased the Ruby from. Whitehead also paid for it to be sent to Goldstand, Colorado.
